Proven Morning Korean Skincare Routine: Step by Step Video Guide

Time needed: 5 minutes.

Your Korean skincare routine in the morning will depend on your skin type and the products you are using. Each part of your morning skincare routine is important to the success of your daily Korean skincare routine.

The best morning Korean skin care routine has been a firm part of many Koreans’ beauty routines for ages. Many women are now rediscovering why they are so dedicated to this practice.

Ever wondered what is my morning routine? I can show you how to start your morning routine with Korean skincare products that are light, fresh, and give your skin a glow from within!

This will be my morning Korean skincare routine, with a 5-step skincare routine in order to have a glowing face and an airbrushed look.

  1. USE A GENTLE CLEANSER

All the morning Korean skincare routine begins with a gentle cleanser. With lots of foam and lather, wipe your face down before you rinse it off with water or a facial toner.

Gentle cleansers that contain mild surfactants are best. These surfactants (ingredients which bind to dirt and oil) are less irritating to your sensitive skin than harsher chemical surfactants.

Gently cleanse the skin and remove impurities. Morning Korean Skincare Routine can help ensure your skin is thoroughly cleansed and free of makeup, dirt, oil and other impurities.

Cleansing and following up with a moisturizer is important. If you are in a rush, it is best to use an exfoliating product that removes dead skin cells and dirt stuck deep in the pores.

This step should be the first one in your morning Korean skincare routine. It cleanses your skin and gets rid of all the makeup and dirt, making it ready for the rest of your routine.

Gentle cleanser is key to a healthy morning Korean Skincare Routine! This 2-in-1 cleanser/toner with softening, smoothing properties removes impurities while increasing hydration.

  2. USE A MINERAL MIST

Mineral mists are great to use after cleansing and before your serums or moisturizer. This step will give you that extra boost of hydration after cleansing.

In the morning, use a mineral mist water in combination with a facial oil. This helps to set your makeup for the day and lock in moisture. I favor this one from Cosrx because it helps to set makeup and prepares skin for the next step in your skincare routine.

Use this mist for a boost of hydration and to give your skin a dose of minerals! It is ingenious in its simplicity – this oil-free combination of essential minerals and natural plant extracts hydrates and revitalizes the skin.

Just like our facial mist, the mineral water in the Perfecting Mist is charged with natural minerals and extracts for nutrient-rich hydration. It helps energize and firm skin to minimize the appearance of pores and balance texture.

Choosing a mist is important as the pH level of the spray can affect your skin.  Choosing a mist that has a pH level between 4 and 5 will prevent irritation and congestion that can be caused by an alkaline pH level.

    USE A TONER

  3. USE A TONER

To continue with morning Korean skincare routine, you’ll need next step. It’s  Toner. Toner helps to remove any excess sebum and dirt off the skin.

To use a toner, pour a small amount into your hands and pat onto your skin. Toners help even out the skin tone and clean up any residue left behind from your cleanser.

A toner can be used after cleansing to help remove any remaining dirt, oil and make-up. But that’s not all. It also helps ensure your skin is really ready for the next step – applying your serum, moisturizer and sunscreen.

This step is the most important step because it’s where you give your skin the massage it needs. By doing this, you’ll be helping to lift off some of the dirt your cleanser might have left and help restore your skin.

Toners are very important. Why? Toners have various functions such as moisturizing, anti-aging, soothing, and brightening. They work by helping other skincare products absorb better on your skin.

It’s important to use a toner regularly. Wait for the mask to dry completely before using the toner. My favorite toner is made by Kokoza in Korea. It is gentle on the skin and will help refresh your face.

We must always remember that when choosing a Korean toner, the main ingredients should be alcohol and water.

  4. MOISTURIZE

One of the most important things to remember when using a Korean beauty routine is to use a light weight moisturizer. Use a moisturizer that has lightweight feel, not oily or too thick. It should also be fragrance free.

All you need is a simple, lightweight and easily absorbed moisturizer. Lightweight products will not clog pores and will allow the skin to breathe.

Light weight moisturizers help seal in the skin’s natural moisture while also aiding in the production more of its own natural.

It’s important to use a lightweight moisturizer in the mornings. This is because your skin has less moisture at this time. I recommend using a moisturizer with a high SPF content to protect your face from the sun’s harmful.

A light weight moisturizer will seal in the serum (and other serums and ampoules) that you’ve applied. This step is an essential part of applying a Korean skincare routine especially if your skin tends to get oily.

The moisturizer will keep the skin hydrated, plump and replenished. It will also help with any dryness that may have occurred due to tight-feeling skin from the cleansing process.

  5. SUNSCREEN

The fifth step in the Korean skincare routine is a very crucial one. Sunscreen! Koreans apply this at least 30 minutes before they step out into the sun (as recommended by most dermatologists).

This natural sunscreen recipe is the final step of your morning Korean skincare routine. Sun damage is the number one cause for wrinkles, and you can easily reduce it by using a natural sunscreen.

Like most skincare routines, sunscreen should be your last step, because the ingredients in sunscreen will react badly to any remaining acids or other products.

This is the final step, and it’s easy to miss. We get that. But when you’re at the beach, your skin desperately needs some TLC with sunscreen and protective clothing.

Sunscreen is arguably the most crucial step of your Korean skincare routine. In the morning, specifically in the summer months, it’s important to have a strong SPF product that protects you from all UVA and UVB rays.

Traditional Korean skincare involves using a sunscreen every single day to protect the skin from harmful UV rays. In this video, we’ll be showing you my easy 5-step Korean skincare routine that I use every morning and night!
